Irwin Simon, president and CEO of The Hain Celestial Group, Inc., Mel-ville, NY, has been appointed by Governor Eliot Spitzer to the New York State Council on Food Policy. Mr. Simon will serve on the council as a representative of the food industry, as a producer of organic food. Members of the council will work to establish new food policies for the state that will help ensure the availability of safe, fresh, nutritious and affordable food for all New Yorkers.
